The Barse name derives from 19th Century American artist, George Randolph Barse. Barse became a student of art at the early age of twelve. His love for art quickly transported him to Paris where he studied under the masters at the Academie Julian and the Ecoles des Beaux Arts. The adoration of art has descended through the lineage of George Barse and is evident in the exquisite jewelry design of his descendants Nancy Barse Moore and Melanie Moore Gobril. Barse & Company is committed to the creative elegance and beauty inherited from the distinguished painter.
The Barse brand can be found in retail settings from major department stores to specialty boutiques throughout the U.S. and internationally. Our talented in-house design team continually creates a turnover of fresh collections that reflect a constantly changing fashion arena. Barse production facilities in Thailand, Hong Kong and Bali allow us to control the quality of our designs and ensure timely reactions to trends and deadlines.
Our emphasis is on sterling silver set with semi-precious stones. But the Barse line also includes beaded stone and sterling pieces, leather combined with sterling, stone and/or metal ornamentation, and coin purses.
Barse has been recognized with the Dallas Fashion Award and the Atlanta DIVA award. These awards honor designers and manufacturers for excellence in design innovation, quality workmanship and retail performance. Barse’s win for the DIVA 2002 was the most recent, with five nominations in Atlanta, and two nominations in Dallas, Barse has taken home the awards a total of five times to this date.
