#28Grams is a one-of-a-kind exhibition that connects the public to some of the most highly representational, figurative, and abstract artists from across the globe who are using modern platforms in striking and innovative ways. Unparalleled in its curatorial design,#28Grams features a diverse range of 28 museum and gallery represented artists from around the world who have broken through the walls of traditional “art” spaces by garnering international online fame through mixing their fine art process with the low-fi medium of Instagram. Aimed at showcasing the individuals behind the up-and-coming digital movement, #28Grams is the brainchild of Fort Works Art founder Lauren Childs who hopes to showcase the method in which “online social networking is breaking down the geographical barriers of artistic genres.” This exhibition opens Tuesday, March 23 and runs through May 20. Many people are familiar with Barbara Van Cleve’s work because of her 1995 book Hard Twist: Western Ranch Women, which was also an exhibition that traveled to museums for a decade including the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame. In this first exhibition featuring the breadth of Van Cleve’s subject matter, viewers experience the other themes she addresses in Pure Quill: The Photographs of Barbara Van Cleve including her Rodeo as Dance series, her striking portraits using the moon and stars as a light source, and her documentation of the Spanish Mission Trail in Baja, California, which she has recorded over more than two decades. Aimed at showcasing the individuals behind the up-and-coming digital movement, #28Grams is the brainchild of Fort Works Art founder Lauren Childs who hopes to showcase the method in which “online social networking is breaking down the geographical barriers of artistic genres.” This exhibition opens Tuesday, March 23 and runs through May 20. Come tour the Monolithic Dome Institute, where you will see several types of domes and how they are made. There is a guided tour of a 2700 sq ft home, and self-guided tour of the complex that includes Bruco the caterpillar, a gazeedome, cabins, rental units, and more.

Tours are available Monday-Friday from 10 am until 4 pm. No appointment necessary, unless with a large group. Free to the public. To being a tour, please check in with the receptionist at the main office.

Many people are familiar with Barbara Van Cleve’s work because of her 1995 book Hard Twist: Western Ranch Women, which was also an exhibition that traveled to museums for a decade including the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame. In this first exhibition featuring the breadth of Van Cleve’s subject matter, viewers experience the other themes she addresses in Pure Quill: The Photographs of Barbara Van Cleve including her Rodeo as Dance series, her striking portraits using the moon and stars as a light source, and her documentation of the Spanish Mission Trail in Baja, California, which she has recorded over more than two decades.
